| Kim
et Philippe VILLARD
have been collaborating artists since 1986
and have established two studios: one on the coast of Maine
and one in the south of France. They spend half the year
in each environnement; printing, painting and carving. (Philippe,
born/Paris 1958 and Kim/Boston 1957.)
The woodblock print images are all drawn
by Philippe who transfers the image to the wood and carves
away the lines, then Kim does all the painterly hand printing
while varying the colors in each of the prints,
They keep their editions to under 15 with
never two alike. Philippe is also a wood carver and Kim
also a paints oil/canvas.
They have shown in Asia and Africa as well
as America and Europe.
